The Ce.Co.L. is an officially recognized qualification by the competent Ministries which certifies the degree of linguistic-communicative competence in Italian as L2. Ce. Co. L. The Certification is divided into six levels of linguistic-communicative competence proposed by the Common European Framework of Reference of the Council of Europe. The exams issued by the University for Foreigners "Dante Alighieri" of Reggio Calabria certify the knowledge of Italian by evaluating communication and linguistic skills.

The MUR, Ministry of University and Research recognizes the Ce.Co.L. certificate B2 as proof of knowledge of the Italian language valid for enrollment at the University in Italy (MIUR Circular, 16/02/2018).
